Bratz Y’all Bistro
Bratz Y’all! got its start in 2012 as a festival food booth, just after founder Sven Vorkauf made the move from his hometown of Berlin, Germany to New Orleans. Inspired by his roots, Sven introduced the city to authentic bratwurst sausage sandwiches topped with traditional German fixings. Fan favorites quickly emerged, like the Drunk Pig (a slow-roasted pork roast sandwich) and the NOLA Schnitzel, featuring a crispy schnitzel topped with crawfish remoulade slaw on a muffuletta bun.
Thanks to strong local support, Bratz Y’all! earned four first-place awards at the Oak Street Po-Boy Festival. With the growing demand for our bold, German-inspired flavors, the next step was clear.
In March 2017, we opened Bratz Y’all! Bistro • Bakery • Biergarten on Piety Street in the heart of the Bywater. Our cozy, welcoming Biergarten now serves up all our signature dishes alongside freshly baked Bavarian pretzels, homemade German desserts, and a curated selection of imported German beers, wines, and schnapps. Live music, great food, and a relaxed atmosphere make this a true neighborhood hangout.
